Sweet Scalloped Potatoes with Blue Cheese

I imagine I either completely lost you with the title or completely sold you on this recipe. I don't think there is any middle ground when it comes to Blue Cheese. I personally, feel it should be a mandate at every meal. In fact, if this were the only cheese left on the face of the earth - It would be good! I take that back - It would be GREAT! Tony the Tiger GREAT! I LOVE blue cheese, my kids love blue cheese and I am fortunate enough to have married a man who adores it as well. I have a friend, on the other hand, and if you barely mention the name her gag reflex kicks in! If you are a "Lover" - put this side dish on your foods to try. It is amazing, and the perfect accompaniment to that Christmas ham I am trying to eat up!

Sweet Scalloped Potatoes with Blue Cheese

4 Baking potatoes
4 large Sweet potatoes
2 cups grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup crumbled Blue cheese
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 cup milk

Slice potatoes. In a 9 by 13 inch baking dish, make 3 layers as follows:
1/3 mixed potatoes slices
1/3 of the Cheddar cheese
1/3 of the Blue Cheese
Paprika (I used Smoked)
Salt and Pepper

Repeat 2 more times.

When ready to bake - dot top with butter and pour 1 cup milk (preferably whole) over top.

Cover with foil and bake in a 350 oven for 1 1/2 hours.

The sweet and salty combination is perfect! Your taste buds will thank you - trust me!

LOVE this 'cheese casserole' lol! My son absolutely loves blue cheese. We do too. In a time of decadent eating, I will try this out!

Wow - I have to try this, but I'm thinking there's not enough bleu cheese in it! :) I like the fact that there are sweets *and* regular potatoes.

Bobi - Run!
RecipeGirl - This is definitely a splurge! Not quite what my diet had in mind.
Karen - Can you ever have enough Blue Cheese? Load that puppy up - the more the better!
Noble Pig - I'm just glad your stopping by my neck of the woods!

Hey Rindy,

Thanks for stopping by!

I am adding you to my blog roll, you cook some rockin recipes!!! I think sweet potatoes and blue cheese are some of my favorite foods....together what a combo!

I am a fan of all the stinky cheeses: blue, gorgonzola, feta, goat cheese.....bring 'em on in any recipe and I'll cook it :-)

Well, I love potatoes, but not a big fan of the stinky cheese. I think I will have to do another kind.....looks really good, but I'm with the gag reflex girl, sigh.....
